Studying by distance learning
We use a variety of delivery and assessment methods; both in print and online. Typically, you'll spend 10–15 hours a week studying at your own pace using our high quality printed materials to support your study of the textbooks, including notes, case studies, and supplementary reading. You will also be allocated a tutor for each subject and you are encouraged to submit regular Tutor Marked Assignments for feedback and review.
We provide excellent print-based study materials for all our modules, available as paper or PDF versions. We facilitate local and virtual study groups to provide mutual support. Combined with online resources, such video conferencing, your location will never be an issue.
For those able to spend some time at Warwick, we offer opportunities for face-to-face study. In addition to our September Seminar, these include an induction seminar at the start of each part, optional weekend seminars and the chance to flex some electives as week-long modules. All of these provide opportunities to get together with other participants for lectures, case study, and group work.
One of the many benefits of the distance learning mode is that you commit to smaller sections of work. We structure the study programme into three years, each with a September Seminar. This means that you can take a break or change your study pace if your circumstances require it.
Assessment varies. For example, of the five core modules three are assessed by three-hour examination. The other two are assessed purely by written assignment.
